Kyoto Protocol featured in Esquire Magazine Malaysia!
We are so honored to have been featured in the first two issues of Esquire Magazine, after their launch on March 16th 2011 at Double Tree. Firstly, let us congratulate Mongoose Publishing for bringing such a great magazine to Malaysia. In April’s issue, Esquire asked Kyoto Protocol about the digital music revolution and how the internet has helped Kyoto Protocol grow and reach out to fans all across the globe. In May’s issue, Esquire did a Music Issue – with features from some of Malaysia’s best bands – and we are delighted and grateful to have the privilege of being featured alongside Amy Search, Pop Shuvit, One Buck Short, Seven Collar T-Shirt, Joe Flizzow, and Tenderfist.
For the Music Issue, we had the pleasure of being photographed by Joss de Groot, and our wardrobe came from Burberry and Alexander McQueen!! All together, between the four of us, we were wearing RM22,950 worth of Burberry and Alexander McQueen, with the priciest item being Shak’s black wool pea jacket. But Fuad was by far the best dressed man of that photoshoot – he looked so good that even a fat kid would have left his cake on the table to walk up to Fuad and ask him where did he get those clothes!
Here’s a little snap shot scan copy of the photo shoot - for more awesome pictures of all the bands – and trust me – they are actually really awesome, get this month’s issue of Esquire Magazine at your nearest news stand! Personally, we love One Buck Short’s photo, and Tenderfist’s shot kinda looks like they are some mafia gang in suits, who play music during the day, and own KL at night!
For those of you who dont know the magazine, Esquire celebrates what it means to be a man in the 21st century. Through strong storytelling, ground-breaking photography and a touch of irreverence, Esquire has become a junction where the intellectually curious and the socially aware meet.
Esquire is all about providing its readers a thought-provoking experience. We’ve been told that they are also passionate about sharing the unique culture of Esquire to Malaysian men through exclusive events and interactive online content, so watch out for announcements through their Facebook and Twitter accounts.

We’d like to thank Sam Coleman, Lennard Gui, Leong Wong, Joss de Groot and the Esquire team for making this happen – and for making it look as awesome as it is!! We look forward to the upcoming issues!!
