  • Kyoto Protocol to headline Indie Aid Japan at Laundry!

Posted by on May 4, 2011

We have been given the honor to headlines this week’s Indie Aid Japan at Laundry! No need to mention what has happened in Japan over the last couple of months, as I’m sure you’re all aware of the tragedies that have hit this wonderful nation. We are strong believers that individuals can make a change, but when these individuals get together and work together for a charitable cause, greater things happen, which is why we immediately wanted to come on board as soon as we heard about this gig.

There will be two stages, providing non-stop music all night, featuring Pesawat, Lightcraft, Halfway Kings, Reza Salleh, Gila Monsterz, K-Town Clan, Darren Ashley, An Honest Mistake and all the way from Japan – DJ Sarasa! There will be merchandise sold on the night, with a percentage of sales going to charity!

Minimum cover charge is RM25, and includes first drink (Draft Beer, Water or Soft Drink)!
    From 9PM til Late
    Thursday 5th May, 2011

Laundry Bar, Saintz & Sinners and Monsoon Records are collaborating on this fund-raising independent music event to benefit those affected by the recent natural disasters in Japan. “Laundry Presents… Indie Aid Japan” is a local collective that will be contributing all proceeds from cover charges and merchandise sales on the night to (SAJ) School Aid Japan, a Japanese organisation carrying out emergency relief programmes for those affected by the calamities.

More than 10 local and foreign artists will play continuously from 7pm to 3am on Thursday 5th May, at this fund raising event, with a line-up that includes favourites like Pesawat, Gila Monstarz, Kyoto Protocol, Halfway Kings, Japanese DJ Sarasa, Mobbstar and Darren Ashley, just to name a few. Truly a meeting of passionate minds, the event is made possible by Laundry Bar’s collaboration with artist management company Saintz & Sinnerz, and Monsoon Records, who are providing the line-up of artists.

“Laundry Presents… Indie Aid Japan represents a coming together of organisations and people with a genuine passion and concern for the people of Japan. What has happened to our Asian counterparts affects us all no matter where we are in the world, and with the help of our many partners here, we are doing our part to ease the unnecessary suffering of the people who have been so adversely affected by these unfortunate events. With this concert, we are looking to raise awareness of the situation in Japan and the difficulties they are encountering, and our main objective is to raise enough funds to make a significant contribution to the recovery efforts” said Mr Andrew Reddy, the Managing Director of ChasWood Resources Sdn Bhd, who owns and operates Laundry Bar in Malaysia.

The event marks the continued work of Chaswood Resources as a company passionate not only about its business, but about people in need as well. Targeting to raise RM20, 000, the Laundry Presents… Indie Aid Japan concert is another chapter in the organisation’s continued mission to help as much as it can through its assets, its partners and its people
